Manage or delete your data
Start in your coaching app: open its privacy or health-data settings, then withdraw Biomtrx consent, disconnect Biomtrx, or request deletion of the health data already delivered to your coach.
If those controls are not available, contact your coach or email compliance@kahunas.io. Signing out of Biomtrx stops the active session but does not delete data already delivered to your coach.
Who provides Biomtrx
Biomtrx is owned and operated by Kahunas FZE, incorporated in the United Arab Emirates. Biomtrx is a companion app that synchronises health data you choose to share from Apple Health or Android Health Connect to the Kahunas coaching environment used by your coach.
For health data your coach manages, your coach or coaching business is normally the data controller and Kahunas acts as its data processor. Kahunas acts as a controller where necessary to administer your account, secure the service, meet legal obligations, and operate Biomtrx.
Health data Biomtrx may read
Depending on your device, operating system, connected health apps, and the permissions you grant, Biomtrx may read the following and send it to your coach so they can set and adjust your training programme:
- Activity and workouts: steps, distance, workouts or exercise sessions, floors climbed, elevation gained, speed, walking and cycling cadence, and cycling power.
- Wheelchair pushes, so movement coaching works the same way if you use a wheelchair.
- Recovery context: heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, respiratory rate, body temperature, and sleep sessions including sleep stages.
- Body and energy: weight, height, active energy or active calories, basal energy or basal metabolic rate, and VO2 max.
- Hydration: logged water or fluid intake. This is the only nutrition-related data Biomtrx reads — it does not read food, macronutrients, or calorie intake.
- Menstruation period dates on supported Android devices, if you choose to grant that permission, so your coach can plan demanding sessions around them. Biomtrx reads the period record only — its start and end dates. It never reads flow or spotting volume, ovulation tests, cervical mucus, sexual activity, or intermenstrual bleeding, and it makes no cycle or fertility predictions. Every other data type still syncs normally if you decline this one.
Biomtrx does not request blood glucose, body-fat percentage, blood pressure, blood-oxygen, location, or contacts data. It reads only the data types listed above, and only those you have allowed in Apple Health or Health Connect.
Biomtrx is a fitness and coaching app. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, screen for, detect, or monitor any illness, injury, or medical condition. It shows you no health readings and no scores or interpretations of your data — it displays sync status only, and you and your coach view the data itself in your coaching platform.
Background syncing
Biomtrx is built to sync in the background. You connect Apple Health or Health Connect once, and Biomtrx then reads newly recorded data and delivers it to your coach while the app is closed. This is why Biomtrx requests background access — on Android, the Health Connect background-read permission; on iOS, HealthKit background delivery. Background access unlocks no additional data type: only the types you have granted are ever read, and turning a type off stops background reads of it straight away. Without it, data recorded while the app is shut — such as overnight sleep and your day's activity — would not reach your coach until you next opened the app.
Other information we process
To authenticate you and route data to the correct coaching environment, we process account and operational information such as your email address, WorkOS user and organisation identifiers, coach or tenant identifier, session credentials, app version, sync timestamps and cursors, native sample identifiers, source app or device metadata, deletion markers, and delivery status. Biomtrx does not access your health-store data before you grant the relevant system permissions.
How your data is used and stored
- New health records may be queued temporarily inside Biomtrx on your device while they await delivery. Sign-in credentials are stored using the operating system's secure credential storage.
- Data is sent over encrypted HTTPS to the Biomtrx sync gateway. The gateway may retain an encrypted batch temporarily while delivery is confirmed or retried.
- After delivery, health data is stored in your coach's isolated Kahunas environment so your coach and authorised members of their team can use it to provide coaching services.
We do not sell health data, use it for advertising, or include it in product analytics, session replay, or operational telemetry. We share it only with your coach and authorised team, service providers needed to run the service under appropriate safeguards, or authorities where required by law.
Consent and permissions
Your coaching platform obtains health-data consent before Biomtrx starts synchronising. Apple Health or Health Connect then asks you which data Biomtrx may read. You grant each data type individually, and Biomtrx reads only the types you allow — including in the background.
You can change or revoke those permissions at any time in your phone's health settings: Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Biomtrx on iOS, or Health Connect › App permissions › Biomtrx on Android. Turning a type off stops Biomtrx reading it, in the foreground and in the background, from that point on. Revoking every type, or removing background access on its own, stops background syncing altogether. Signing out of Biomtrx also ends the session and stops background delivery until you sign in again.
You may also withdraw health-data consent or disconnect Biomtrx through your coaching account where that option is available, or by contacting compliance@kahunas.io. Withdrawal stops future consent-based processing but does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal, and it does not by itself delete data already delivered to your coach — see the next section.
Sign-out and deletion
Signing out removes the active Biomtrx session and stops background delivery until you sign in again. Signing out does not by itself delete data already delivered to your coach's Kahunas environment.
To request access, export, correction, restriction, or deletion of your data, tap Manage or delete your data on the Biomtrx sync screen, which points you to these controls, then use the privacy controls in your coaching account where available, contact your coach, or email compliance@kahunas.io. Where your coach is the controller, Kahunas will assist the coach with the request.
Retention
Health data held in Kahunas is retained for the duration of the active account and thereafter for up to three years, or until consent is withdrawn, whichever occurs first, unless a different period is required by law. Temporary delivery data is removed after successful delivery or handled through the retry and deletion processes. System logs are normally retained for up to 12 months and exclude health payloads.
Security and international processing
We use encrypted transport, tenant-isolated storage, role-based access controls, and telemetry minimisation. Kahunas infrastructure and service providers operate primarily in the United Kingdom and United States, with appropriate transfer safeguards used where required.
Children
Biomtrx and the Kahunas services are not directed to children under 16, or a higher minimum age where local law requires it.
